Interpreting WorldSpeak

When Kentucky Fried Chicken translated their slogan “Finger lickin' good” into Chinese, it came out as “Eat your fingers off”! The right words, said the wrong way.

This amusing but potentially brand-disastrous example demonstrates how vital it is to translate the meaning, not merely the words. Today’s reality is that literal translation no longer meets the market when  the use of colloquialisms and modern interpretation of language can create far better understanding and more positive response within the global marketplace.

Is your English putting off your customers?
There are more than 196 countries in the world, of which 120 are rugby playing nations, and less than twelve of these will be able to understand how wonderful your offering is!
Failure to speak your customer’s language is potentially costing you revenue.

By translating your web copy or other marketing materials into other common languages like Spanish, Chinese and Portuguese you will triple – yes, TRIPLE -- your potential customer base!!

Say exactly what you mean to say
While business in a foreign market is fraught with challenges, language is the easiest to overcome and yet the one most commonly mishandled. Marketing messages lost in translation can be hilarious . . . until it happens to you.

Get it right first time. Jag works with you to produce accurate translations that account for cultural sensitivities and the idiosyncrasies of any dialect.
